Online Counselling / Therapy

Online therapy works. For anxiety, low mood, grief, relationship difficulties and the after-effects of trauma, research suggests that therapy by secure video or telephone can work well for many people and many common concerns, and many find it easier to commit to.

Sessions are one to one with Kingsley, 45 minutes long, from wherever you are. There is no travel, no waiting room, and no need to explain yourself to a receptionist. All you need is a private space and a reasonable connection. Your joining link appears in your client area and in your confirmation email.

Fees: the Initial Consultation is 45 minutes at £75. Online sessions are 45 minutes at £80, by live video or by phone, and online couples counselling is £100 for a full hour. See all fees.

What to expect

Online sessions are 45 minutes and run just like meeting in the room, over a secure video link or by telephone. You settle somewhere private and comfortable, and all you need is a phone, tablet or computer with a reasonably steady connection.

How we work

The approach online is the same integrative one we use in person, drawing together person-centred, CBT-informed, solution-focused and mindfulness-based ideas and shaping them around you. Working this way changes the setting, not the care.

Fees

The initial consultation is £75. Ongoing online sessions are £80 by secure video or telephone. Full fees for every service are on the fees page.

Common questions

Does online therapy work as well as meeting in person?

For many people, yes. Research suggests that therapy by secure video or telephone can work well for many common concerns, and many find it easier to fit around their week.

What do I need to join?

A phone, tablet or computer, a private space, and a reasonably steady internet connection. We send the link in advance.

Can I switch between online and in person?

Yes. Many people mix the two to suit their week, and you can change how you meet at any point.

Shaped Around You

Sessions are shaped around your situation rather than a fixed programme, and the pace is set by what you find useful.

Private and Secure

Sessions are held over a secure video link and treated with the same confidentiality as any session in the room. Your joining link is private to you.

One Therapist Throughout

You work with Kingsley from the first session to the last, so you never have to retell your story to somebody new.

Easy to Fit In

No travel and no waiting room. Appointments run on the hour, and evening slots are available seven days a week.

If you are not sure whether working online will suit you, the Initial Consultation is a straightforward way to find out. You can also switch between video, telephone and face-to-face sessions as your circumstances change.

Everyone is welcome here. Marking Therapy is an inclusive, affirming practice for people of every background, ethnicity, culture, faith, gender, sexuality and relationship style. Sessions are for adults aged 18 and over.
