Supervision for Counsellors

Supervision for Counsellors

Supervision is where the work gets thought about properly. Whether you are newly qualified or many years into practice, a reliable space to bring your caseload, your uncertainties and the things that stay with you afterwards is part of working safely and working well. Sessions are one to one with Kingsley by secure video, so distance is not a barrier. Supervision is grounded in the supervisor’s own ongoing practice as an integrative therapist working with individuals and couples. We look at what is happening in the work, the dynamics you are noticing, the ethical questions you are weighing up, and how you are yourself, not only how your clients are. Fees: clinical supervision for counsellors is by live video. Choose 45 minutes at £55.00, 60 minutes at £75.00 or 90 minutes at £110.00. See all fees. Supervision here follows the Cyclical Model, a clear framework that moves from what you bring, through focused exploration, to practical next steps you can take back into your work. Supervision training includes the Diploma in Counselling Supervision Training, provided by Cruse Bereavement Support and certified by NCPS, completed in June 2024.

Who it is for

Supervision here is for qualified and trainee counsellors who want a reliable, supportive space to reflect on client work and to meet the supervision requirements of their professional body. Some supervisees bring a full private practice caseload; others are in placement and building their hours. Both are welcome, and sessions are shaped to your stage of practice.

How we work

Kingsley supervises from his own ongoing practice as an integrative therapist. He holds the Diploma in Counselling Supervision Training, provided by Cruse Bereavement Support and certified by NCPS, and acts as a clinical supervisor for Cruse Bereavement Support. Supervision works best as an ongoing relationship: an agreed rhythm, one supervisor throughout, and patterns across your caseload tracked properly rather than rebuilt each time.

You can book a supervision session directly through the booking page, or get in touch first to talk through the fit.

Common questions

Who is supervision for?

Qualified and trainee counsellors who want a supportive space to reflect on their work and meet the requirements of their professional body.

How are sessions held?

Online, by secure video. Distance is not a barrier, and it makes supervision easier to fit around your caseload.

How often should we meet?

That depends on your caseload and what your professional body requires. We agree a rhythm that fits your practice.

Free monthly group supervision

Alongside one to one supervision, I run a free monthly online group for therapists and counsellors who are working in private practice, which exists so that people practising on their own have somewhere to think alongside colleagues rather than carrying everything by themselves. There is no charge for it. If you would like to join, please email support@markingtherapy.com and the joining details will be sent to you.

Shaped Around Your Practice

Supervision is shaped around your caseload and your stage of practice, whether you want to focus on particular clients, on specific approaches, or on your own resilience.

A Confidential Space

A supportive and confidential space where you can bring uncertainty and mistakes as well as successes, without worrying about how it will look.

One Supervisor Throughout

You work with Kingsley throughout, so the context does not have to be rebuilt each time and patterns across your caseload can be tracked properly.

Practical and Honest

Feedback is direct and practical. The aim is that you leave with something you can use in your next session, rather than general reassurance.

Supervision works best as an ongoing relationship rather than a series of one-off consultations. If you would like to talk through whether this is the right fit before you commit to anything, you are very welcome to get in touch first.

Everyone is welcome here. Marking Therapy is an inclusive, affirming practice for people of every background, ethnicity, culture, faith, gender, sexuality and relationship style. Sessions are for adults aged 18 and over.
